The Estuaries is located on Anastasia Island in the Butler Beach area.
The 56 unit complex is situated on an estuary which leads to the Matanzas River. The complex was completed in 2007. There is a St Johns County boat ramp off Riverside Blvd which is the access street to the Estuaries. Here is a link to view the amenities. Click here.
The gated complex has a pool with clubhouse, parking for boats and RVs (a plus when living on the island). Each three bedroom and two bath unit has solid surface counter tops, fully applianced, 10' ceilings with crown molding in living area, master bedroom suite with large walk in shower with 2 closets, a large patio which is adjacent to the estuary to the river and a single car detached garage.
The buildings are concrete block with 125mph wind resistant windows and doors. The floors between each unit are poured concrete.
Rentals are allowed but limited to a month minimum and the pet code allows 2 dogs or cats per household of any weight.
The ocean is .29 mile from the gate. The Matanzas river is the cleanest river in the state of Florida according to the Matanzas River keeper and is literally right out your door. There is a St Johns County boat ramp at the end of the street!~
I would enjoy introducing you to this serene, very well built and maintained community.
In December 2012 my family moved to The Estuaries -- we were looking for something in this location (close to family) and we needed a handicapped accessible unit. Since moving in, we have discovered that we love living here. Even though we are less than a block from A1A, it is remarkably quiet, contributing to relaxation on the porch with a view of the woods or estuary or river, and often lovely sunsets over the river.
It is great being a block from the ocean and beach in one direction and a block from the Riverside Park in the other direction.
In addition to the condo unit being handicap accessible -- no steps and open floor plan, we have been delighted to discover that the entire condo complex is handicap accessible.
When we chose The Estuaries, it was due to location and mobility issues. We now realize that we are very fortunate to be part of this complex, which is well managed!
