Ocean Palms is a gated single family home community with a great island location nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. Homes are placed well back from historic beach highway A1A with most overlooking freshwater lakes or nature preserve settings. In fact, over 40 acres of the subdivision is a dedicated conservation area. It is not uncommon to see deer, raccoon, a variety of birds in or coming from the preserve or an occasional porpoise or manatee off the community fishing pier.
Ocean Palms is designed to be truly pedestrian friendly, featuring a complete sidewalk system throughout the entire community.
The community amenities are centrally located, such as the central community park and swimming pool, the river park and Intracoastal fishing and viewing pier. The beach is only two blocks from the community entrance via a dedicated beach walkway.
Areas within Ocean Palms are dedicated to different styles of homes. Custom homes abut the Matanzas River / ICW and have their own piers and boat docks. Single family homes require the homeowner to do or contract for their individual lawn and landscaping. Patio homes are individual homes on generally smaller lots with an association that handles lawn and landscaping issues for a monthly fee. The single family and patio homes were all built by Palmetto Homes of St. Augustine and feature high security concrete block construction. All are deed restricted with an active association.
Ocean Palm Testimonials:
"Ocean Palms is the very best place to live on the island. A gated community set back from A1A with lush landscaping and cement block houses. The communities fishing pier juts out into the intracoastal waterway where you can fish or watch the boats go by while enjoying the sunset. There is a community pool and playground for the little ones or your grandchildren. The magnificent sandy beaches of St. Augustine are just a walk or bike ride away. Hop in your car and all the island restaurants are just 10 minutes away. We have lived in Ocean Palms for 15 years and cannot imagine living anywhere else." Terry & Barbara
"We have lived in Ocean Palms for 16 years. Although I get homesick a few times, the thought of leaving Ocean Palms makes me realize how much I truly love it here and how much I would miss it. The people, the great neighbors, the pier, the life style, the cleanliness and the overall upkeep of the development cannot be matched. We care how our neighborhood looks. From the drive in, you feel this is a well cared for development. I know some folks were concerned about this last hurricane, but because our homes are concrete block and so well built, there was very little damage to the homes." John & Diane
"We have lived in Ocean Palms going on two years and are very happy with our home and community. The entry to Ocean Palms is so special, the lane is long tree lined and acts as a calming area after coming out of the traffic. The community is very quiet; at night we can step out of our home and the ocean is the only sound we hear. Also the lighting is subdued allowing us to view the night sky. To have town and the ocean so close makes us happy to live in Ocean Palms." Don & Peggy
